Artistic Inspiration

Trekking Ballet Flats

A self-taught textiles artist, she works to create sculptural garments. Their work is inspired by biomimicry, taking inspiration from forms and processes found in nature, and their materials selection is informed by their background in textiles engineering.

Cultural References

Intricate patterns, Islamic geometries

Intricate patterns in their pieces evoke imagery of Islamic geometries, complementing the exploration of their Muslim upbringing through silhouettes. They use textiles to surrender into the of distinction "craft work" to explore the perceived value of modern garments and women’s labor.
